My name is Dawn, and I’m a BASI certified Pilates Mat and Fully Comprehensive teacher. When I’m not teaching or practicing Pilates, I love trail running on the moor and along the North Devon coastline.

I have been practicing Pilates for over 16 years and am passionate about the overall benefits regular practice can bring to our mind, body and lives. If I could only do one form of exercise forever,  it would have to be Pilates!

My beautiful, light, fully equipped studio is on the top floor of Owlsfoot Business Centre, Sticklepath, North Dartmoor.

I chose the BASI Teacher Training Programme to qualify as a teacher as it offered a contemporary, extensive and in-depth study of human movement relating specifically to the work of Joseph H. Pilates. BASI’s approach is to provide a well-rounded, comprehensive Pilates education. I completed my Mat certification in 2023 before deciding to embark on the BASI Fully Comprehensive Course, which I have now completed

The comprehensive course is comprised of face-to-face module training with BASI UK faculty teachers and is an in-depth study of Pilates on the apparatus involving over 500 hours of study, self practise, teaching, observation and both written and practical examinations. The apparatus studied include the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector  and the BASI F2 Chair.  My main focus is on the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair and Spine Corrector which I have in my studio in Owlsfoot Business Centre.

I am passionate about Pilates as I believe it is a core part of keeping healthy, active, strong and independent for as long as possible. I want to teach people the importance of the fundamental Pilates exercises and how they can be transitioned and incorporated into their everyday lives.
